About Us

Cub Scouting is about fun, learning, service to the community, and building character. Cub Scout Pack 460 is about all of those things, plus a little more. We race Pinewood Derby cars, go camping, collect food for the homeless, learn about being prepared, play all sorts of games, make crafts, and have fun! We are a year-round family program designed for both boys and girls who are in the Kindergarten through Fifth Grade. All Dens include both boys and girls. As a Pack (the group of us), we meet once a month (usually on weekends) at Holy Redeemer School Auditorium, at the corner of Summit Avenue and Saul Road in Kensington. Our Dens, which are age-specific smaller groups, meet one to two times a month usually on weeknights. In addition to fees paid to the national Scouting America organization and the National Capital Area Council, our annual Pack dues cover Den fees, supplies, awards and recognition, and a yearly subscription to Boy's Life magazine. Total annual dues are similar to the cost of two seasons with a local youth sports league.

Pack 460 has been serving the Kensington community chartered out of Holy Redeemer Parish since 1956. We are part of the Potomac District in the National Capital Area Council (NCAC) of Scouting America. Because Scouts, parents, leaders, and organizations work together to achieve the purposes of Cub Scouting, we depend on the volunteer spirit of our Parents and Leaders.
